KSL Clinic NMC Status

Nursing staff at KSL Clinic’s Kent and Manchester treatment clinics are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the UK’s statutory regulator for nurses. Registration is checked and verifiable for every nurse individually, not issued to KSL Clinic as a whole, so any nurse supporting your procedure or aftercare can be confirmed on the NMC’s public register before you’re treated.

So in this article, we’re breaking down what NMC regulation covers, what it requires of our nursing staff, and why it should factor into your decision as much as any before-and-after results.

Who Are the NMC?

The Nursing and Midwifery Council is the independent professional regulator for nurses, midwives and nursing associates practising in the UK. Its role includes setting the standards of education, training, conduct and performance that nurses must meet, maintaining the official register of everyone permitted to practise, and investigating concerns raised about a nurse’s fitness to practise.

The NMC’s standards are set out in The Code, the profession’s core standards document covering four key areas: prioritising people, practising effectively, preserving safety, and promoting professionalism and trust. Every registered nurse is expected to work within this Code as a condition of remaining on the register.

Nurses must also complete revalidation every three years to maintain their registration, a process that requires evidence of ongoing practice hours, continued professional development and reflection on their practice. This means NMC registration isn’t a one-off qualification, it’s an ongoing requirement that has to be actively maintained throughout a nurse’s career.

Nurses cannot legally work in the UK, under the title of nurse, without being registered with the NMC.

KSL Clinic and the NMC

Nursing staff supporting patient care at KSL Clinic’s UK locations are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. This covers nurses involved in pre-operative assessment, supporting surgical procedures, administering PRP treatment, and post-operative aftercare, across our Kent, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Newcastle, London and Leeds clinics.

Because NMC registration is checked at the individual level, every member of our nursing team has been through the same verification process, regardless of which clinic they’re based at or which part of your treatment journey they support.

What We’re Regulated For

NMC regulation covers the professional conduct, clinical competency and ongoing accountability of individual nursing staff in the UK, rather than KSL Clinic as an organisation. This includes how nurses administer treatment, how they communicate with and care for patients, how they maintain and update their clinical knowledge, and how they’re held accountable if something goes wrong.

If a patient or employer raises a concern about a nurse’s conduct or competence, the NMC has the authority to investigate and, where necessary, restrict or remove that nurse’s right to practise. This sits entirely outside KSL Clinic’s own internal processes, an external check we don’t control.

What This Means for You

If you’re treated at any of KSL Clinic’s UK locations, the nursing team involved in your care, before, during and after your procedure, is professionally regulated to the standard expected of nurses across the UK healthcare system, and individually accountable for the care they provide. You can check any nurse’s registration status directly on the NMC’s public register before your procedure, using their full name or NMC PIN.
