Why Consider PRP Hair Treatment in Dublin?

PRP is ideal for clients who aren’t suited to a hair transplant, perhaps because they have more extensive hair loss and do not have sufficient donor hairs or have a skin sensitivity or other underlying cause of hair loss that makes a non-surgical therapy more appropriate.

Other clients prefer to schedule PRP therapy as an alternative to a transplant due to their personal wishes or as part of an ongoing hair loss management plan, where we believe that PRP will be the most effective way to slow and control hair loss in the interim until the client is at the ideal stage for a permanent hair transplant.

The therapy is also a highly recommended aspect of post-transplant recovery, and to activate new hair growth in advance of a scheduled hair transplant where this would be beneficial to achieving the outcomes you aspire to.

PRP is broadly considered one of the best non-surgical ways to treat thinning hair and loss. It involves the extraction of a small blood sample, which is processed to separate the concentrated platelet-rich plasma that activates dormant follicles and nourishes the skin.

Injecting this safe, non-synthetic compound into areas affected by hair loss ensures you can see renewed growth, richer and more lustrous hair, and significant improvements in the texture and suppleness of your skin – with results that accumulate over a series of phased treatments.

How Does Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy Work to Address Hair Loss?

Hair loss can affect clients of every age and gender due to varied factors like pattern hair loss, alopecia, or reactions to medications. It’s also common for hair loss to impact facial hair, eyebrows, and beards just as much as the hair on a client’s scalp.

PRP works by utilising the platelet-rich plasma in your blood. Because there are no synthetics and we use only your own blood as the source, there is no risk of contaminants or allergic reactions.

During a PRP appointment, we work through these steps:

Phase 1

First, we’ll take a blood sample, usually from your arm, using a very fine needle to ensure you are comfortable throughout.

01

Phase 2

That sample is placed into a centrifuge, which separates the blood into its parts and ensures we have a powerful concentrate of platelet-rich plasma.

02

Phase 3

Using the same clinical-grade needle for comfort, we inject the PRP into the target areas, either where you are experiencing hair thinning or loss or around the transplant site if you are using PRP as part of your recovery strategy.

The proven effectiveness of PRP means this therapy is equally valuable for helping boost the speed of post-transplant recovery and the pace at which new hair grows when used as a standalone or interim therapy outside of a hair transplant.

What Are the Benefits of PRP Hair Treatment With KSL Clinic Dublin?

Hair loss and thinning can cause a great deal of stress, and whether you’re not yet at a stage of hair loss where a transplant would be suitable, would like a non-surgical approach, or are keen to optimise the results of your transplant, PRP is an excellent option.

Faster Recovery and Hair Growth Post-Transplant

The boost of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production in your skin can have a marked impact on the speed at which your scalp recovers and heals after a transplant and assists in rapid regrowth around the hair transplant area.

Non-Surgical Hair and Scalp Restoration

PRP is often recommended if you have experienced hair loss, but follicles remain dormant and capable of producing fresh, healthy hair. It works equally well for clients with hair loss or as post-transplant therapy as it does for those looking at ways to stimulate thicker and more youthful hair postpartum or following lifestyle changes.

Fast, Effective and Safe Hair Growth Treatment

Utilising the platelet-rich plasma within your own blood and ensuring your therapy is administered in a clinically hygienic environment eliminates potential risks and side effects, with gentle injections that require no anaesthetic and avoid any possible contaminants or allergic reactions associated with synthetics and chemicals.

PRP Dublin Hair Treatment FAQs

How Many PRP Treatment Sessions Will I Need to See New Hair Growth?

All hair restoration services provided by KSL Clinic Dublin are adapted to you. Although the number of PRP sessions we recommend may depend on the location, extent, and nature of hair loss, we usually recommend at least three appointments to achieve the best outcomes.

Can I Use PRP Treatment in Dublin as an Alternative to a Hair Transplant?

PRP can be used instead of a hair transplant where this isn’t yet necessary or where hair loss and thinning are minor or not yet extensive, for clients who wish to avoid a full hair transplant procedure, or as an interim measure to manage hair loss over time.
