What Does a Bristol PRP Hair Treatment Involve?

PRP utilises the platelet-rich plasma from your own blood to promote healing and growth in areas of your hair that are patchy or thinning or where you have recently undergone a hair transplant.

Because this therapy avoids any synthetics or medications, it is entirely safe. It is known to be a great way to handle pattern baldness, some types of alopecia, thinning hair, hair loss linked to menopause, and as a supplementary post-transplant treatment option.

Our CQC-regulated Bristol clinic offers a comprehensive range of treatments and is fitted with the latest equipment, including a specialist centrifuge device. We’ll explain how PRP works next, but the basics are that we carefully draw a small blood sample, extract the bioactive plasma, and then gently inject this into the target area.

The benefits of PRP are compelling. It results in nourished and stimulated follicles, increased blood flow to the required location, and thicker, healthier hair growth, which can transform your appearance and confidence.

How Does PRP hair treatment work?

Our GMC-registered hair transplant surgeons and accomplished technicians customise all treatments for you. We first arrange a free, discreet consultation, during which we can examine your scalp and hair, discuss all the options, and provide advice and recommendations about the best way forward.

If you opt to continue with PRP therapy or would like to schedule this after your hair transplant, we’ll endeavour to accommodate your schedule and find an ideal appointment slot.

On the day of your therapy, the process works as follows:

Phase 1

First, we draw the small blood sample, usually from your arm, using a very fine, clinical-grade needle to minimise any minor discomfort – most clients report that they do not experience any pain at all.

01

Phase 2

The sample is then placed into our hygienic, contamination-controlled centrifuge, which extracts the valuable plasma in just a few minutes.

02

Phase 3

During the last step, we’ll inject the platelet-rich plasma carefully into the target area, taking great care to ensure each injection is smooth and precise.

Long-Term Hair Health and Transplant Recovery Improvements

While PRP is primarily used to enhance hair growth, it also activates cellular activity in the scalp, leading to healthier, stronger, and more robust skin and hair.

Effective and Permanent Hair Recovery

PRP provides ongoing results and works perfectly in conjunction with a hair transplant or to stimulate new growth in dormant hair follicles.

Minimally Invasive Gentle Procedure

We use the highest-quality needles to ensure your treatment is pain-free and to minimise any discomfort.

Safe, Natural Hair Restoration

Using your own plasma eliminates the risks of reactions or allergies and ensures that the entire treatment is safe and completed within our medical-grade facilities.

Can Anybody in Bristol Book a PRP Treatment With KSL Clinic?

PRP treatment stimulates inactive hair follicles, boosts recovery and healing after a hair transplant, or is used as a standalone treatment to prepare the scalp and hair for transplantation. Most clients are eligible for this treatment, although we usually treat people aged 21 or above as a standard.

If you’re unsure whether PRP is the right hair restoration technique for you or would like to discuss your hair loss concerns with one of our talented surgeons, please book a free consultation with KSL Clinic Bristol.

How Long Does a PRP Hair Restoration Treatment in Bristol Take?

The exact length of your consultation and treatment will depend on the area affected by hair loss, thinning, or receding hair. This will influence the number of injections we need to administer to activate dormant follicles or assist with recovery from your hair transplant.

Clients travelling to Bristol for either a hair transplant, consultation or PRP therapy will never need to stay at the clinic overnight but could opt for accommodation at any of the numerous local hotels, including the Aztec Hotel and Spa and Hilton Bristol North.
